Senior Engineering Technician

Our San-Jose Based NPI Team is in search of an Engineering Technician to work closely with engineering, production and NPI teams to introduce new products and processes as aligned with project goals.
 

Responsibilities:

  • Define, support and present solutions for Global NPI process
  • Work closely with engineering, production and NPI teams to introduce new products and processes as aligned with project goals
  • Provide critical feedback and solutions to product design team and specials group as to functionality and DFx requirements
  • Define and support documented processes pertaining to NPI's and existing production
  • Provide guidance to senior management team as to NPI pilot results and overall readiness
  • Integrate variety of new tools and processes to manufacturing from concept to mature manufacturing
  • Configure tests and perform V&V (validation & verification) for product design team
  • Aide development of new product test stations and processes
  • Work with the test engineering team to successfully introduce new products and processes
  • Build manufacturing tools for new product introductions and existing production
  • Maintain NI Labview ATE software
  • Design and maintain manufacturing test processes            
  • Validate product and test processes
  • Support operations, and customer service
  • Improve operations processes pertaining to quality and cost objectives
  • Provide expert knowledge in many major product platforms to global customer service, sales, and production
  • Provide training to test technicians
  • Work with the engineering team to support contract manufacturing of products
  • Assist operations and quality in troubleshooting technical issues to root cause and recommending corrective action
  • Involved in many cross-functional continuous process improvement efforts
  • Wire up and test a wide variety of precision analog, digital, and RF circuits
  • Create engineering change orders
  • Create and update product and process documentation (bills of material, test procedures, etc.)

Essential Qualifications:

  • Associate Science degree in electronics or computer science or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years experience as a technician, including new product and process introduction
  • 3-5 years experience in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Expertise with test and measurement equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, network analyzer, counter, digital multimeter, etc.)
  • Experience writing Labview software for automated manufacturing test
  • Desire to work on a wide variety of projects in a dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects
  • Excellent judgment and teamwork
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Desire to travel globally about 4 weeks a year

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with Global Positioning Satellite timing receivers
  • Experience with low jitter, low phase noise products and circuits
  • Experience with high performance test and measurement technologies
  • Experience with networking protocols and database systems
